Osler Education’s Diploma of Pre-Business Foundations program provides aspiring business and management students with the prerequisites required for attending international business and management schools. This program plays an important, intermediary role in a student's educational path. We enable our students to partake in greater learning opportunities through our Diploma Pre-Business Foundations program. Our knowledgeable and professional instructors not only educate but also tutor and advise students throughout the course of their study. Students are instructed based on a rigorous curriculum, which will set a solid foundation for students to build upon in their future studies.
This course will focus on teaching students the fundamentals of accounting and working in the accounting field. Financial statements and information will be discussed through the course. Students will learn about financial transactions and how they are processed each period.
Students will be introduced to the basic skills that are essential for being an optimal leader in the workplace. Effective communication and professionalism are essential as well as ethical decision-making. Different leadership styles will be explored which will include how to handle conflict, team organization, team dynamics, and emotional intelligence.
This course will focus on understanding, analyzing, and comparing published financial statements. With these skills and techniques, students will be able to predict financial performance. Accounting fraud and prevention will be largely discussed during this course.
This course will focus on the foundations of successful business strategies. Students will learn how to craft and execute successful business strategies while being ethical and socially reasonable. This course will focus on students understanding the theory of strategic business.
This course will be a review of basic computer applications including spreadsheets, Word, and application software. Students will learn to create spreadsheets used to calculate and create data commonly used in business. Students will learn how to solve common issues faced with using computer application software.
Students will be introduced to topics such as communicating, analyzing and measuring information to reach the goals of an organization. Items such as standard costing, cost behaviors, budgeting, make or buy decisions, return on investment and discounted cash flow for capital budgeting will be reviewed.
This course will focus on the responsibility of a business and the leaders in that business. Students will learn about ethical and legal responsibilities of these leaders to drive productivity within the team.
This course will focus on going in-depth with financial accounting areas such as; international accounting, investing, foreign in currency transactions, non-profit accounting, income tax allocation, consolidation, and much more.
Students will focus on the functionality of a business and common issues businesses face. Students will learn about the business environment and perspectives. Business ethics relating to employees, stakeholders, and customers will be discussed in detail.
This course will focus on healthy communication in the workplace and how to approach stressful situations with professionalism and authority. Learn about different personalities that you may have to interact with and how to communicate effectively.
The objective of the Pre-Business Foundations program is to facilitate an accessible pathway for business and management students to complete the accelerated diploma program and lead onto their future educational path in business and management by studying at international business or management schools.
The Diploma of Pre-Business Foundations is a 28-week program divided into two, 14-week semesters, for a total of 235- hours of instruction time. Students earn a total of 100 credits upon completion of the program. The online course is broken down into self-study modules and students are evaluated by mid-semester and final examinations for each module. It is recommended that notes are taken during class and the Instructors will provide a list of the recommended readings/textbooks. Students will undergo various testing methods including quizzes, tests, midterm exams, final exams and assignments. The class instructors are Professionals with extensive experience in the courses that are being taught.
This foundation program is for aspiring business and management school students who would like to get an in-depth knowledge and foundation as well as get the required prerequisites to attend business and management graduate school. This program plays an important intermediary role in a student’s educational path. We enable our students to partake in greater learning opportunities provided through the program.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Diploma of Pre-Business Foundations.
